Rose Hill URC have just signed up as a Chesterfield750 Guild

If you're coming in to Chesterfield on 15th May for the 750th Anniversary Event, why not pop along to the Church on Rose Hill and take in their Flower Festival?

The Festival runs from 12th - 15th May. The displays will be celebrating significant anniversaries of well-known authors in 2016 such as Beatrice Potter, Roald Dhal and Charlotte Bronte. There will be refreshments avilable.

Battle of Chesterfield talk - 30th March 2016

On Wednesday 30th March Peter Gray of the Chesterfield750 group will be giving a talk about the battle of Chesterfield at the Winding Wheel.

32 groups have signed up as Guilds for Chesterfield 750!

Take part in C750 photo-op - Monday 8th February

On Monday (the 8th) at 1 o'clock, outside the Town Hall, we're having a picture taken for The Derbyshire Times. This is part of our attempts to raise sponsorship, so we'll be dressed in ragged tabards - dead easy to make (we'll bring some spares) - and holding out begging bowls or palms in supplication (and looking appealing!). Please be there if you can, as the more people there are in the picture the more popular the event will look, and the more likely it is that it will attract sponsors... If you have nice costumes please come anyway - later on we'll try to arrange another picture showing them off.

Sunday May 15th 2016 - New Square, Chesterfield

Events for our commemoration of the 750th Anniversary of the Battle of Chesterfield will begin at 11.00. If you're planning to march into town, like the Men of Brampton did all those years ago, that's when you might want to arrive at New Square.

We'll kick off with music from Baldwin's Wake - a newly created band of musicians playing up tempo tunes in "medieval style" - and then get on with the re-enactment, dancing, crafts, displays etc.

Next Meeting for Chesterfield 750

Chesterfield 750's next meeting will be at 7.00 on Monday 7th March, 2016, at the Rose and Crown, Brampton. Anyone who is interested in the project and would like to see how things are progressing is welcome to attend.
